Mina the Semi-betrayer.

When I read about when Mina was caught sucking blood from Dracula's chest I was surprised. I DEFINITELY did not see that coming. Why do you guys believe she did this?

  1. I think it was because even though Mina was an extremely pure woman, she still could not overcome the power of a vampire like Dracula, proving his ghastly, nearly supernatural presence in the novel. This made me feel as if no person is safe from evil temptation, and I feel that is what the author is trying to portray.

  2. Indeed. It just really made my skin crawl. I kind of saw the message of about how lustfulness is so wrong, being conveyed. She couldn't resist the temptation and so she gave in to such a gruesome task. She could have been attracted to him by seductive powers and it led her to believe that he loved her and that he was her master.

  3. I don't know if it was temptation necessarily, as much as it was Dracula's sheer power over a defenseless person. I don't think anyone could have overcome his presence without aid.

  4. i dont think i would consider her a traitor, because i think she was under his spell or like in a trance of some sort.
