To me it seems as if Van Helsing is. He was the one with all the info and because of him they had an idea of what to do. Although it truely involved a lot of teamwork.
I think the hero would have to be Van Helsing. He really came to the rescue when they had to hunt down Dracula. They really kind of ended up following him and his plans so I think he had a big influence on their safety.
